Dr. Keisha, Co-host

​Dr . Keisha Bean is a licensed psychologist for the state of Tennessee with a Health Service Provider designation. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and her Master’s and Doctorate of Philosophy degrees at Tennessee State University. During this time, Keisha was able to solidify her clinical skills related to multicultural mental health through a series of diversity training experiences. Her interest in diversity and multicultural issues ultimately lead her to an internship at the University of Cincinnati’s College Counseling Center. After this training experience, Keisha returned to Nashville, TN to complete her Post-doctoral training at Vanderbilt University’s Community Mental Health Center.

 

Soon after this training; Keisha became the Regional Psychologist for the Department of Children Services, Juvenile Justice, in Nashville, TN. She was responsible for overseeing treatment and providing consultation services for the Juvenile Justice facilities in Tennessee. She was also responsible for implementing evidenced based programming and facilitating gender-specific/gender-responsive programs for DCS.  â€‹She later went on to serve as Clinical Director for a secure mental health facility for adolescent females in Nashville. Keisha was responsible for overseeing treatment services for these youth, providing clinical supervision for clinical staff, and working with DCS to successfully reintegrate youth back into their communities.

Currently, Keisha works as a psychologist for Deberry Special Needs Prison for incarcerated men. She is the sole proprietor of Bean Counseling and Consulting Services where she provides therapeutic services for men, women, adolescents, LGBTQI, and couples. Keisha is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and serves her community through many of the initiatives within this organization. She enjoys reading, tennis, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
